On Saturday, October 28, 2023, 32 individuals successfully completed the County of Los Angeles Fire Department’s 20-hour Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training class.
The training class was held at the Nakaoka Community Center in the City of Gardena.
CERT provides hands-on training in incident command systems, medical operations, triage, treatment, search and rescue, and fire suppression.
In the event of an emergency, CERT graduates are now equipped with the necessary skills to triage themselves, their families, and individuals in the community until first responders arrive to provide advanced care.
