Celebrating Nurse Recognition Week!
The County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) celebrated National Nurses Week from May 6 through 12, 2024. Throughout the week, nurses from the LACoFD, along with those from the Departments of Health Services, Public Health, and Mental Health were celebrated and honored for the vital role they play in the delivery of emergency services to patients.
As part of National Nurses Week, LACoFD Senior Nursing Instructor Kristina Crews was recognized as Nurse of the Year for her many impactful contributions to the Department. Kristina received a formal proclamation during the Nurse of the Year Ceremony on May 13, 2024.
Kristina has been a nurse for 28 years and has been with the LACoFD since 2018. As a senior nursing instructor, Kristina is a Department leader, patient care advocate, and an instrumental part of improving prehospital emergency care.
The LACoFD is fortunate to have a dedicated team of nurses who continue to provide education, preventative health care, and quality care.
