Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel are always busy in the community. Here is a snapshot of what Department members are doing across the county.

Don’t Forget: 2016 March of Dimes Barbecue

The 2016 March of Dimes (MOD) “Be a Superhero, March for Babies” campaign will continue Wednesday, May 25, with the Department’s annual March of Dimes Barbecue, Vendor Day and Classic Car Show at the Cecil R. GMOD 2016 logoehr Fire Combat Training Center.

Tickets for the barbecue, which is scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m., are $10 and can be purchased at the event.

The vendors will open at 7 a.m.

The annual MOD campaign allows employees to support efforts to improve the health of mothers and babies in the area. Events include County Night at Dodger Stadium, the MOD “MedWalks” at County hospitals and health centers, the Fire Department’s MOD Barbecue and county-wide “Blue Jeans for Babies” Days in May.

Last year, Los Angeles County employees raised more than $300,000.
