Empowerment Congress Summit at USC
The 25th annual Empowerment Congress Summit took place on Saturday, January 14, 2017 on the campus of the University of Southern California.
Created by Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, the Empowerment Congress is an opportunity for members of the community to be informed on how government works, advocate for issues, connect with public resources, and develop strategies to shape policy and legislation.
The annual event is a partnership among neighborhood groups, residents, nonprofit organizations, businesses, religious institutions and community leaders within the Second Supervisorial District. This year, Fire Chief Daryl Osby attended the Empowerment Congress Summit with Chief Deputy David Richardson Jr., Chief Deputy Dawnna Lawrence, Deputy Chief William McCloud and Battalion Chief Anderson Mackey.
