The Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) participated in an “All Call” and a remembrance ceremony on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, in honor of the 17th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and the crash of Flight 93 in Pennsylvania.
A moment of silence was observed throughout the Department during an “All Call” activated by the Los Angeles Communications Center at 10 a.m., followed by a ceremonial message.
LACoFD Fire Chief Daryl Osby and Deputy Chief Anthony Marrone, along with other fire personnel, attended the Los Angeles Fire Department’s 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at Frank Hotchkin Memorial Center in Los Angeles. The ceremony was in remembrance of nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives, 343 of which were firefighters of the New York Fire Department.
LACoFD participates in ceremonies throughout Los Angeles County each year to honor and remember the lives lost on 9/11.
