A familiar face is back in the Public Information Office at the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Fire Captain Keith Mora on Wednesday, April 1, assumed the title of Public Information Officer from Fire Captain Tom Richards.
“Anyone coming into this position has tough shoes to fill,” Mora said. “We congratulate Captain Richards on his return to a field operations assignment, and we wish him success.”
Mora, who has been a member of the Department for nine years, served under Richards as an inspector in the Public Information Office for about two years before he promoted to fire captain in December. He worked at Fire Station 6 before being detailed back to Public Information.
The PIO’s office handles day-to-day calls with media and public affairs for the Department’s 171 stations, including events such as Fire Service Day, the Medal of Valor ceremony and more. As part of his new duties, Mora supervises three inspectors, an intermediate typist clerk and a public information assistant.
Prior to joining the Department, Mora was a member of the El Cajon Fire Department and the San Bernardino County Fire Department.
