At exactly 10:20 a.m., on Thursday, October 20, 2022, the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) joined millions of other Californians in the annual Shake Out Earthquake Exercise by performing the “drop, cover, and hold on” drill and conducting a post-earthquake emergency exit drill.
Each year, the Department participates in the Great California Shake Out, which has taken place every year in Southern California since 2008, to prepare its personnel for the “Big One” and practice Departmental emergency plans.
