The Lancaster JetHawks baseball team showed its gratitude to Antelope Valley first responders by hosting an appreciation night at their stadium on Monday, May 15, 2017. A local business owner bought 5,000 tickets and generously donated them to first responders and their families.

Attendees were greeted by a full display of Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) equipment, including Quint 33 flying the US flag over the NASA F/A-18 Hornet on display at the main entrance of the stadium. Engine and Squad 130 were on exhibit at the stadium entrance and Engine 134 was inside the park at the Kids Fun Zone.

LACoFD was honored, along with representatives from the Sheriff’s Department, Department of Corrections, ambulance companies and hospitals, at the pitcher’s mound before the game. Engine 134 Fire Fighter Paramedic David Chavez stood as the Department’s representative while Honor Guard from LACoFD and the Department of Corrections proudly displayed flags at the home plate. Air Operations wowed the audience when its Sikorsky S-70 Firehawk helicopter flew over the stadium as the singing of the National Anthem came to a close.
