On Thursday, February 7, 2019, the City of Bellflower hosted its 25th annual BRAVO (“Bellflower Recognizes Acts of Valor and Outstanding Service”) Awards luncheon at the William and Jane Bristol Civic Auditorium inside Bellflower City Hall. Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) Fire Captain Paul Schneider, along with eight other heroes, were honored for their outstanding acts of valor.
Captain Schneider received a Distinguished Service Award for his tireless commitment and hard work in moving the Los Angeles County Fire Museum to a brand-new fully equipped building. His efforts to revitalize and preserve fire service history earned him this prestigious award.
Captain Schneider serves as the President of the County of Los Angeles Fire Museum Association.
Fourth District County Supervisor Janice Hahn, LA County Sheriff Alex Villanueva and LACoFD Chief Deputy David Richardson, Jr., each addressed the audience, acknowledging the dedicated efforts of first responders and local community heroes.
Former Major League Baseball pitcher Jim Abbott was this year’s keynote speaker. Abbott pitched for the California Angels and the New York Yankees.
