On Oct. 7, the Palmdale City Council and Division 5 Assistant Fire Chief Gerald Cosey celebrated the “new” life of retired Los Angeles Fire Captain David Moore and presented five Battalion 17 firefighters with certificates of appreciation for saving Moore’s life.
On May 15, Engine 24 and Squad 37 responded to a full arrest at the Antelope Valley Country Club. With extensive 30-minute Advanced Life Support Cardiac Arrest treatment, Captain Moore was saved!
There was not a dry eye in the audience when Cosey presented a Certificate of Rebirth to Moore, who emotionally shared what he remembered of his experience that day in May. Now that he’s been “reborn,” Moore is five months old!
Thank you to Engine 24 Firefighters Fire Captain Paul Stump, Fire Fighter Specialist John Miller and Fire Fighter Andy Morales of Engine 24, as well as Fire Fighter Paramedic Robert Metro and Fire Fighter Paramedic Bradley Wolfenstein of Squad 37 for saving Moore! This is a perfect example of the Los Angeles County Fire Department’s mission to save lives.
